Festival of Joy

Whoever you are, where ever you are, if you love festivals and understand the true importance of them, you truly live life to the fullest. Diwali has been a festival of lights, with colourful dresses, loads of sweets, and entertainment. But the most amazing thing is the joy you share with people around you - your relatives, friends and neighbours. There is something magical about festivals. It uplifts even the most depressed of the lot and infuses the tonic of happiness and care. When other than this time would you have a nice chat with your neighbours, have a blast with friends, and happily gorge on the mouth watering delicacies? It is a wonderful experience. You pride around wearing new dresses, offer your prayers to God, and help the deprived by sharing your joy with them. We love the bright lights, but what makes us all most happy is the faces of the deprived which light up even more when we share our joy with them. Festivals eliminate caste , creed and any form of divide. We all get together and live life to the fullest!.. Happy Diwali! Yummy sweets staring at me.. here i come!

Trash the criticism.. the ICC Champions trophy is alive!

I have taken quite a long break from blogging, the reason being the very hectic schedule I had in the 5th qtr of MBA. I had wanted to pen down many things that had happened during that time but had always not found time as the thoughts were overwritten as time passed by. But the West Indies - Australia ICC Champions trophy cricket match in the league stages deserves mention. I have always liked the Windies for their relentless attempts at improvement despite their limited abilities. WI has become more of a batting side, far from their good ol' days of the deadly fast bowlers. But I saw some of that during that match. It wasnt the pace, but the way they kept their cool and delivered on the most important aspect of success in bowling - line, length and variation of pace. Imagine a relatively unknown bowler, Taylor, taking a hat-trick against the best team in the world, in a tournament they are most hungry to win! It couldnt have come at a better time to boost the Windies confidence. Australia however bounced back with a win over lackadaisical England. A depleted Pakistan humiliating an in-form Sri Lanka which bounced back over the earlier group leader New Zealand are other adrenaline gushers. The ICC Champions trophy is truly alive!.. We the fans decide its fate and we give a true thumbs up to it!.. GAME ON!
